We came to know *Malik when he was pursuing an electronic engineering degree in our city. He was a serious and intelligent student who had a genuine passion to know God. When we invited him for discipleship he eagerly accepted, and we had a great time discovering and exploring the truth together. He decided to be baptized, and then began helping us disciple an elderly couple who were from the same country as *Malik. Soon the time came for *Malik to leave the country since he had completed his education. It was a sad farewell, and we did not know how he would be treated back in his country since he was now a follower of Christ. After a few months, we heard that *Malik could not get a job in his country, as he did not want to sign a government document where he had to confirm that he was a Muslim. His passion for Christ kept him from signing any such document even if it led him to financial crisis. He ended up moving to a neighboring country where he worked in a tea shop. We were sad for him as he faced hardships, yet we were so proud of his faith in Jesus!
After a year, *Malik asked us to pray for an opportunity to go to Zimbabwe. God answered our prayers and *Malik was able to travel to Zimbabwe. He not only found work there, but also met a beautiful person who loved Jesus and who would become his life partner. *Malik had lost family and relatives in his decision to follow Christ, but we were so blessed to witness how the Lord had taken care of*Malik and provided for him. It was an honor to go to Zimbabwe to be *Malik’s best man and witness what God was doing in and through him. *Malik, along with his family, continues to be involved with the Church and passionately shares his faith with others.
